06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
08 - 2 teaspoons ground cumin
09 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
10 - 0.5 teaspoon chili powder

12 - 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
13 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

14 - 4 whole-wheat burger buns (gluten-free alternatives optional)
15 - 1 ripe avocado, sliced
16 - 1 cup shredded lettuce
17 - 1 large tomato, sliced
18 - 0.25 cup zesty yogurt sauce or chipotle mayo
19 - Lime wedges, for garnish
# How To Make It:
01 - In a large bowl, mash black beans with a fork or potato masher, retaining some texture.
02 - Add diced red onion, minced garlic, rolled oats, breadcrumbs, egg, lime juice, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and cilantro. Mix thoroughly until combined.
03 - Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into burger patties.
04 - Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat with light oil. Cook patties for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
05 - Lightly toast burger buns if desired.
06 - Spread zesty yogurt sauce or chipotle mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Layer shredded lettuce, black bean patty, tomato slices, red onion, and avocado slices. Cover with top bun.
07 - Serve immediately with lime wedges and optional side salad.
